'Pheasant in Winter' is one, of two, beautiful examples of a realistic and detailed watercolour painting of this wild bird. Full of colour in a snowy, winter, country style setting.
It has been painted on thick 310gsm Bockingford watercolour paper. I have used a palette of many vibrant colours to depict the plumage of this stunning wildlife bird. Strong hues of orange and brown with light contrast of duck egg blue are used for the body with dark tones of blue and green for the head, all set against rural woodland with a light, pink tinted, winter sky. The backdrop has been softly and loosely painted to complement the snow filled scene.
It has been mounted with warm white, slightly textured, archival mount board which has a black core, giving the watercolour a crisp, modern style finish to the artwork. It has been framed using a glass front panel and thick, solid oak, wood frame which has been backed with MDF. All hanging fixtures are in place and therefore ready to hang in your home or workspace adding a touch of interest and focus to your room.
