Semi abstract original painting entitled 'Wayward' (1) is an original, textural, expressionist, contemporary piece of fine artwork. It has been created using overlays of neutral tones of acrylic paint giving great depth, contrast and character to the coastal image. Natural shades of blue, light brown and umber have been used to obtain this slightly impressionistic style of work.
The seascape has been inspired by my time spent by the coast, studying, drawing and 'living the life'. It evokes an emotional response to forms and atmosphere from rural aspects of rustic coastline.
The paint is laid initially with my hands, various art tools and mediums, finding I can manipulate the paint with ease in this way to give an even flow.
The artwork has been painted on professional primed art board and mounted on 6 mm MDF which has been painted in a warm white with satin finish as has the solid wood frame. Because of the tone of both frame and image it will suit practically all home interiors and enhance areas of interest in any room to create an eye catching feature and interesting focal point.
