An original watercolour painting of two girls, holding hands on the beach. Sisters or friendship is the theme for this beautiful painting from the coastal collection entitled 'The Memories We Share' by Janet Gammans.
 
Strong in contrast, is the image of these children walking hand in hand barefoot on the sand against the light blue sky, sea and waves. For me, it conjures up images of past times and carefree days spent with the ones you love by the coast. I am inspired by distinctly British coastal scenes because of the changing light creating interesting water reflection on the wet sand. I have used predominantly soft tones of ultra marine blue, burnt umber and yellow ochre and added 'movement' to the scene by adding seagulls flying and the flowing dresses seemingly blowing in the gentle breeze. Subtle tones are used throughout creating harmony throughout.
 
The artwork has been painted on thick 320 gsm archival quality, Bockingford watercolour paper, which has a smooth matt texture. The actual size of the painting measures 23 cm square and sits within a glass panel and solid white wood frame. The wood has a slight textured matt surface. It has been double mounted with a warm white and blue/grey archival quality mount card. 
 
All fixtures and fittings are in place and therefore ready to hang in your desired space.
