'The Meadows' is a large, original painting in acrylic medium, on primed stretched cotton canvas. Painted in an impressionist style, full of perspective and painterly expression, it depicts the British countryside in the summer months. This style of painting is evident in much of my work and is used to express the true nature of the land.The inspiration came from the Cambridgeshire meadows of Granchester, near to where I live.
I have used colours of rich 'warm' tones, predominantly shades of yellow ochre, green and blue expressing in detail the contours of the land, foliage and trees, full of movement with the copse towards the background emanating back light through the dense undergrowth.
Perfect to bring the nature from outside into your home creating a sense of space, 'en plein air' and presence to any large setting within your interior whether home or office.
