An original medium size, framed seascape full of painterly qualities of an impressionistic style. The mainland is dark and set against a blue cloudy sky where birds fly overhead. Boat masts can be seen in the distant background with the foreground comprising of sandy beach, where the inlet of water reflects light in abundance creating a rugged, rural impression of the British coastline.
 
A modern approach is used to depict this scene. An harmonious and rustic style full of expression using subtle shades of, predominantly blue and burnt umber laid in a semi abstract style creating depth, perspective and drama.
 
For me, it expresses an emotional response to the atmospheric mood of the day as it gives way to the changing light, casting shadow and reflection allowing the viewer a sense of time and place.
