'Rock Face' is an original, intricate, contemporary and semi abstract work of art. It has great tonal depth using the natural colour palette range of turquoise blue and warm brown hues. The close up of rock and sea water colliding create a highly textural and expressive impression giving an almost 3D effect. The artwork evokes an emotional response to forms, atmosphere and textures from rural aspects of rustic coastline.
Acrylic is my preferred medium when painting by the sea. The quick drying process helps me to work with a more reactive, immediate approach whilst achieving flow and continuity within the painting. More layers are applied at home in my studio, but the initial painting is inspired by the response to what is in front of me.
The artwork has been painted on professional primed art board and mounted on 6 mm MDF. The frame is made from solid wood and painted with a warm white satin finish paint which will suit practically all modern interior design giving a strong focal point to your wall.
