A beautiful, atmospheric and sultry seascape of blue grey cloudy sky reflecting light onto rustic and rural coastal land. Boats sit on the middleground horizon whilst in the foreground is flooding of salty sea amoungst the uneven and rocky marshland.
It has been inspired by the Norfolk coastline of Great Britain which is close to my home village of Cambridgeshire. I have experienced many walks along the coast of Brancaster and Hunstanton in all weather. It was important for me to recapture the dramatic light on the land as the stormy clouds pass overhead.
I have used neutral colour tones of light and dark blue with subtle shades of green and yellow ochre. The contrasting rock and marshland have essences of burnt umber and raw sienna mixed with darker shades to offset the lighter hues of the sea. I would like to think the viewer has a sense of 'being' and calm whilst reminiscing of times spent in these familiar places of unspoilt beauty and rustic charm.
It would suit many room settings giving the viewer impact to any aspect of home or office. It has been left unframed for you to decide which frame suits your space. Although a modern work of art, it would suit a contemporary or the more traditional frame.
