A rather special painting if you love France and the French lifestyle, as I do. Something so very familiar in the countryside, an hilltop village full of inviting charm. A stunning scene to behold, how could I not paint it? I decided to give the image much detail of the clustered housing surrounded by flora and so is a realistic, slightly impressionistic, contemporary landscape. It depicts the surrounding light falling on the buildings with the pink foliage of the Oleander bushes and darker, tall Cyprus trees to the foreground, so very characteristic of the beautiful Provence countryside.
 
It has been painted in acrylic watercolour medium on treated professional, archival art card and framed in a bespoke, solid wood, slightly 'distressed' frame with an antique, warm white, matt finish. It has a glass front panel and the artwork rests on MDF backing, where all fixtures and fittings are in place. It would look suitable in either a contemporary modern style home and equally a traditional, countrystyle interior.
