An original painting of the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy. As I observed people walking by, birds in their path, I became in awe of this wonderful city steeped in history. Painted in an impressionist style I was able to recreate the scene before me.
 
I used a limited palette with predominantly tones of blue and violet with the odd dash of yellow ochre to bring out the middle background. A strong, impactful image of people captured in the sunlight, against the strong contrast and perspective of huge statues and historical buildings adorning the square. A sight to be seen.
 
The artwork has been painted on to primed cotton canvas and will complement many interiors whether contemporary or the more traditional in style. I'd like to think the viewer will have special memories of their time spent here, in this magical place.
