'Lavender Fields' is a scenic landscpae painting of the Provence countryside in Southern France with beautiful lavender growing amoungst the rustic setting of olive trees with an hillside backdrop.
Rural France is a place that always inspires me. I have painted many canvas' with the similar settings which I find around every corner whilst traveling through Southern France. Lavender fields in abundance, simply take your breath away and once seen, never forgotten. I used a lilac, blue and purple palette to create the lavender and subtle shades of light, natural green and ochre for the surrounding area. With the deeper tones of the hillside in the middleground it was a the perfect setting for bringing the sunlit fields to life.
It has been painted on a 'chunky' (deep edge) canvas so can be hung either framed or unframed. It's up to you! Fixtures and fittings are in place if you decide to hang it without. A beautiful piece of artwork for any room you choose whether that is a contemporary modern or country farmhouse style.
