'High Spirit' is an original, contemporary, semi abstract seascape. Neutral, warm colour tones have been used to achieve a textural and expressionist style of work. It evokes atmosphere with movement as the birds fly over the stormy ocean giving depth and contrast to this piece.
 
Acrylic is my preferred medium when painting by the sea. The quick drying process helps me work with a more reactive, immediate approach whilst achieving flow and continuity within the painting. More layers are applied at home in my studio, but the initial painting is inspired by the response to what I see. 
 
The artwork has been painted on professional primed art board and mounted on painted, 6 mm MDF. The solid wood frame and MDF is painted with warm white satin finish complementing the image itself. A small painting, but gives impact to any interior space to add a focal interest to your home or office.
