A large, original, atmospheric beach themed fine art seascape painting with an expressionist style rocky foreground and calm ocean below with waves rippling to the shore whilst seagulls fly high.
 
Painted in a impressionist style, I used soft shades of blue with light subtle shades of pink for the sky and sea. In contrast for the foreground are stronger colour elements with added complementary blended tones of yellow ochre and burnt umber which work in perfect harmony with the middle ground and distant coastline.  An invigorating open space of a British rural setting full of movement and perspective, creating a feeling of presence and beauty.
 
This fine art piece has been painted onto primed, archival professional stretched cotton canvas. It has been framed in a contemporary, modern style wide front, solid wood frame which has a warm white, slightly textured, matt finish complementing the artwork beautifully.
