'Hare in Winter' is an framed, energetic, wildlife, watercolour painting of the British brown hare in the snowy winter forest which is often spotted in the British countryside in all weathers. A stunning sight to see!
 
A fine example of the animal in motion kicking up snow in it's tracks. A realistic and slightly impressionistic style of art which lends itself to watercolour beautifully. The background has been painted in soft colour tones using shades of blue with subtle warm yellow undertones. The snow gives movement and a textured, painterly feel to the artwork. Deep tones of umber are used against the lighter areas making this image stand out from the muted light background, complementing the image perfectly. 
 
The frame is made from solid, light oak wood which is backed with MDF. The front panel is glass and the image has been painted onto thick Bockingford 320gsm archival watercolour paper. The warm, white mount, slightly textured, has a black core giving a sharp, fresh edge finish and contemporary feel. It will be suitable for many interior settings whether modern or the more traditional.
