'As the Sun Sets' is a semi abstract, coastal fine art painting in acrylic medium on canvas. Impressionist in its' style and full of colour and texture, creating great depth, perspective and light throughout.

I used an infusion of colour from a palette of orange, pink, blue brown and yellow in complementary and subtle shades to describe this rural landscape with lighter tones for the sea, waves and sky as it reflects onto the land. The paint and mediums used integrate and interact achieving fluidity and unity to this inspired work of art.

For me, it expresses an emotional response to the atmospheric mood of the day as it gives way to the changing light, casting shadow and drama, giving the viewer a sense of calm and wonder.

It has been painted onto primed cotton canvas with solid wood bar frame for its sturdy support. The wide bespoke frame is made from solid wood which has a slightly rustic quality and finished in a matt warm white, which complements the painting beautifully. 
 
The artwork would suit many settings giving impact and interest to home or office space. Although a modern work of art, it would suit a contemporary or traditional interior creating a pop of colour to your space.
