This atmospheric landscape is impressionistic with a contemporary and semi abstract painting style. Dark, moody and atmospheric with contrasting highlights of light and color tone creating a beautiful rustic charm of the British countryside meadows at twilight.
This rural setting has beauty and mood in abundance. I have offset light against dark using grey, blue, a hint of yellow ochre giving a dramatic appearance to the the cloudy sky which reflects onto the wild flowers and foliage below. To create the meadow I used ochre, red blue and green by using various techniques and splashes with painterly brushstrokes throughout. Birds fly overhead to give movement and the delicate red poppies stand out against the back light as the wilderness of the rustic countryside unfolds. I have painted it in an impressionistic style but lends itself to a contemporary modern work of art.
It has been framed in a bespoke 'floating' style solid, chunky wood frame, painted in a warm satin white. All fixtures and fittings are in place so therefore ready to hang in your home or work space. Because of the neutral and natural color tones, it should suit many interiors modern or traditional in design. It will surely give a certain impact and interest to the viewer.
